SCRAP MEMORIES
5-CHAPTER NARRATIVE-DRIVEN VIDEOGAME
The world through Julia’s eyes is a vibrant tapestry shaped by the love of her family. When her parents are suddenly gone, she turns to her brother Jamie, her unwavering pillar of certainty. He confines her life to the house and makes sure she feels loved, almost letting her forget what has really happened.
In trying to protect her from pain, Jamie traps Julia within the fragile walls of innocence, unaware that they are both sinking under the weight of avoiding reality. Yet Julia’s curiosity about the changes around her will guide her toward the truth.

short-interactive journey into the unseen sacrifices of siblinghood
simple mechanic BREAKDOWN
AGENCY
Scrap Memories is a first-person, single player game where you play as Julia. In the world itself you can interact with almost every object that is placed on screen. It will depend on when you interact with it, that you will learn more about the real situation of your character.
EXAMPLE: If you are too young to know how to read you won’t be able to learn the content of letters. Once you are old enough, you will understand that a a sheet fortress is not a camping tent.
WORLD
The game portrays an environment narrative. The story will only move forward when interacting with your surroundings. Dialogues can’t be skipped and actions are always given in pairs to choose.
The story moves forward through 5 chapters. In order to access the next chapter you must complete a quest and learn some skills. Between each chapter there are breakpoints which lead to a final cinematic that presents the next storyline and quest.
LIMITATIONS
In order to introduce small challenges and branches from the story, the character possesses a limited amount of energy. Once the energy deploys, the character will fall asleep. This limits the amount of choices you can make without the story moving forward.
This is a forced action that doesn’t affect the branching choices, but promises to keep the world exploration always exciting. It also prevents the limitless clicking on objects in the search for new content.
